Dr. Muhammad Riaz won the HEC Indigenous scholarship for Ph.D. studies and completed his Ph.D. at GC University, Faisalabad. He also completed two years of Postdoctoral Fellowship while working at the University of Veterinary and Animal Science Lahore in an International Development Research Centre (IDRC), a Canada-funded research project.
He has very good expertise to handle many advanced analytical instruments such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, Atomic absorption spectrophotometer, flame photometer and spectrophotometer etc. His Professional research skills include mineral analysis in plants, heavy metal analysis in wastewater, wastewater treatment, and medicinal plant profiling. His area of research is biological studies such as cytotoxicity, antimicrobial activity, antifungal, antioxidant, purification, phytochemistry from medicinal plants, along with well-developed problem-solving skills and initiative in establishing new method developments.
Dr. Riaz has also exposure to organizing technical workshops, conference, and symposium as an organizer. He as a resource person delivered many lectures in technical workshops and oral and poster presentations at both national and international conferences/symposia.
