Brief Profile

Dr. Mohsin Gulzar Barq obtained Ph.D. Microbiology from the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. His area of expertise is Environmental Microbiology and Molecular Microbiology, with a research emphasis on Bacterial Biofilms as well as Microbiome of Complex Soils. He has accomplished his Ph.D. research work in Soil Microbial Ecology Lab, College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), Columbus, Ohio, USA. He has also performed a collaborative research project of Karolinska Institute and Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden which aimed to identify the possible role of microorganisms in degradation of Swedish Vasa ship (a 17th century Swedish war ship kept in Vasa Museum that sank in 1628 at Stockholm harbor and salvaged in 1961). Additionally, he has worked on Waste water treatment project, antimicrobial testing of Epoxy based coatings, He has also worked on biodegradation of toxic pesticides used in indigenous crops to promote sustainable agriculture.
