The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and the Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry, University of Central Punjab (UCP) organized the 5th Technical Workshop on EndNote and Generative AI 2026 on August 25, 2026, with participation from various universities.
Session 1: EndNote – Reference Management
Dr. Muhammad Riaz, Associate Professor of Chemistry in collaboration with Dr. Muhammad Afzal and Malik Abdul Rahim, led the hands-on EndNote session, providing practical training in reference management, citation organization, and formatting for research papers and theses.
Session 2: Generative AI in Research Productivity
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director ORIC and HoD Chemistry, led the session on “Generative AI in Research Productivity,” focusing on the use of Generative AI to enhance research efficiency and productivity, along with ethical considerations for its responsible use in academia.
At the closing, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh highlighted the importance of these technical tools for young researchers and briefly introduced the 3+1 Industry-Integrated Model of the BS Chemistry Program at UCP. Certificates and EndNote software access were also distributed among participants. The workshop demonstrated ORIC UCP’s continued efforts to strengthen research capacity, enhance academic productivity, and equip researchers with practical tools and emerging technologies for effective research.
