UCP ORIC Holds Meeting with Tiksom Pvt. Ltd. to Strengthen Industry-Academia Collaboration

The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), University of Central Punjab (UCP), held a follow-up meeting with Tiksom Pvt. Ltd. on July 30, 2026 to explore opportunities for strengthening industry-academia collaboration in innovation and the commercialization of Final Year Projects (FYPs).

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director ORIC, emphasized UCP’s commitment to industry-driven research, innovation, and commercialization through strategic partnerships. Mr. Muhammad Junaid Butt, Co-Founder & COO, Tiksom Pvt. Ltd., presented a framework for engaging FYP teams in developing market-oriented technology solutions and discussed a proposed MoU for future collaboration.

The meeting brought together faculty representatives from FOIT & CS and FOST, along with the ORIC team, and concluded with discussions on fostering innovation, enhancing industry engagement, and developing commercially viable technology solutions with international market potential.

ORIC UCP Organizes Smart Tax Planning and Income Tax Return Filing Workshop 2026

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Central Punjab (UCP), organized a workshop on Smart Tax Planning and Filing Income Tax Return 2026 on July 28, 2026. The session, led by Dr. Imran Shahzad, Chartered Accountant and Head of the Accounting and Finance Department, UCP, provided participants with practical insights into taxation, tax compliance, and the preparation and filing of income tax returns through the FBR IRIS portal.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director ORIC, highlighted the importance of financial literacy and tax compliance for professionals and entrepreneurs. Certificates were distributed among participants. The workshop was coordinated by Malik Abdul Rahim, Research Associate, ORIC.

Collab P’s Delegation Visited University of Central Punjab

Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization hosted a delegation from Collab P to discuss opportunities for connecting UCP’s research and innovation ecosystem with industry projects in the United States. The delegation included Mr. Farhan Essa Shah, CEO of Collab P, and Mr. Muhammad Abbas Syed, Program Director, who met with Dr. Hammad Naveed, Pro-Rector, UCP, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director, ORIC and Research, faculty members, and ORIC representatives. The meeting focused on strengthening academia-industry collaboration, advancing industry-driven research and commercialization, and exploring the potential of UCP’s Final Year Projects. The delegation also visited UCP’s engineering laboratories, innovation facilities, and startup projects to learn about the University’s research and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
