ORIC UCP Organizes Practical Hands-On Training on Filing Income Tax Returns 2026
The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Central Punjab (UCP), organized a workshop titled Practical Hands-On Training: Filing Your Income Tax Return on the Updated IRIS Portal on September 08, 2026. The session, led by Dr. Imran Shahzad, Chartered Accountant and Head of the Accounting and Finance Department, UCP, provided participants with live step by step training on navigating the updated IRIS system. It also offered practical insights into reconciling wealth statements accurately, computing tax liabilities correctly, and confidently filing annual Income Tax Returns.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director ORIC, highlighted the importance of financial literacy and tax compliance for professionals and startup founders. Certificates were distributed among the participants. The workshop was coordinated by Malik Abdul Rahim, Research Associate, ORIC.
ORIC UCP hosted the visit of Punjab Agricultural Research Board (PARB) to Effluent Treatment Plant
UCP ORIC hosted Dr. Abid Mahmood, Chief Executive of the Punjab Agricultural Research Board (PARB), and Dr. Abid Hussain, Executive Member Coordination PARB, on September 4, 2026. The delegation visited the Effluent Treatment Plant installed at UCP using its own Bio and nanotechnology . The delegation also held a productive meeting with Pro Rector UCP Dr. Hammad Naveed and Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh to explore future collaborative projects.
ORIC UCP Organizes Practical Training on Financial Strategies 2026
The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) organized a training session on Financial Strategies and Revenue Models for Startups on September 2, 2026. Dr. Amina Rizwan led the session to provide practical insight into entrepreneurship and digital innovation. She guided founders without a financial background through revenue models, budget creation, and fundamental forecasting. The training explored local funding options in Pakistan and featured interactive exercises to help participants track business metrics while avoiding common financial errors.
At the closing, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh (Director ORIC) highlighted the importance of financial planning and distributed certificates. Attendees also received a training handbook and tailored budget templates. The workshop was managed by Malik Abdul Rahim, Research Associate, ORIC.
